How to Use a Food Processor: A Step-By-Step Guide

All electronic devices are designed to be easy to use and convenient to clean. However, our own experience will teach us many easier ways than the instructions in the manual. In general, before we buy any product, it is customary to consult with those who have been using that product for a long time.

I know, there can be no one who does not know what a food processor is. But many are unaware of how to use the food processor in a variety of easy ways. You don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Today, we are going to explain here about the food processor, how it works and the simple steps to use it. This is especially useful for those who are new to food processors and who only follow the manual procedures.

A Step-By-Step Guide

Buying a good food processor is a divine gift to women who spend most of their day in the kitchen. There are many things we do not know about food processors that are capable of doing all the work in less time like slice, shred, mince, cut, grate, making puree, atta kneading, blending and so on.

Having used food processors in my kitchen for many years and as a result of ongoing testing, my team is well aware of how to properly use this food processor.

Here’s how to use a food processor and many other tricks.

Step 1: Safely Unpack Everything

Every food processor model that comes from each brand will be different in structure and function. Most food processors come with a plastic work bowl, a work bowl lid, an electric base, multiple blades, a blade shaft, a feed tube, and a plunger.

Unpack the box containing your food processor and take everything out carefully. Before you start using your food processor, make sure all parts are neatly and properly connected.

Step 2: Connect the Jug to the Base

Assemble all parts

First attach the jug to the base of the food processor. Often, the jug is mounted on a central mechanism. To do this properly, start with the handle on the left side of the center and lock with a turn in the counterclockwise direction. If you use a large main base, it can be easily integrated. But, if you are utilizing a diminutive accessory bowl, you can slot using the main stand.

Step 3: Select the Desired Blade & Attachment

Attach the blades

You need to use the appropriate attachment for whatever job your food processor wants to do. You can effectively mix, chop, mince, mash, and puree by choosing a blade that is as sharp as a knife. This blade is attached by a click on the central mechanism. Minor wiggling occurs during attachment, and the blade can be locked by turning slightly counter-clockwise.

Like blades, grating discs that attach to disk support, and slicing discs are one of the most frequently used options. Match the tubular support on the pipe to the main motor shaft.

Then slot the preferred metal disk upwards and turn it clockwise. Food processors come with a variety of blades, so choose it according to your cooking needs.

Step 4: Adjust the Lid

After fitting the attachment in the right place the lid should rest on it. If you want to use the main plate, you need to add your ingredients inside before fitting the lid on the bowl.

With the funnel on the left side of the handle, slide the lid in the opposite clockwise direction to click in place. If you use one of the discs for slicing, grating, etc., do not adjust the lid by placing the material in the bowl.

Step 5: Add Ingredients

Add ingredients

Generally, if you want to use a slicing disc you only need to insert the ingredients inside after the motor is turned on. The funnel is fitted specifically for insertion into the food processor.

This will ensure user safety and the functionality of the machine. The main thing you need to remember in this process is to reduce the size of ingredients before fitting some large items through the funnel.

When the motor is running, push the selected ingredients for food into the grating or slicing disc using the pushing tool that comes with the device.

Step 6: Run It On

Switch it on

Disassemble the cable that comes with the food processor and insert it into the socket. Make sure both the plug and the socket are clean and dry during this process.

Press the power button on your food processor model to start the motor. This initiates the movement of the blades or discs. The pulse mode can be used to get an exciting output. The pulse button on most models makes it easy to perform the pulse function.

If you do not have a pulse button on your food processor model, you may need to press the on and off buttons again and again until you reach the desired output.

Step 7: Watch Transparently

Due to ordinary mixer grinders having an outer coating, we cannot see what is going on inside the machine. But the jug of the food processor has a transparent structure so we can see everything that is done with it.

For example, you can see everything from how many ingredients are chopped, the consistency of atta dough, and the quantity of ingredients while the processor is running.

Step 8: Clean the Parts

Clean all the parts

Cleaning all the parts immediately after you finish your work is the key to keeping your food processor in good condition. Extreme care is required when removing blades or attachments from the appliance for cleaning.

Wash all parts, including the bowl, lid, and funnel cover, in warm soapy water. After that, wipe them off with a soft cloth. Following that, let the parts air dry. Once all the parts are dry, then place them on the kitchen shelf.

The cleanliness of the food and the life of the machine can be ensured by following the procedures mentioned above after each use of the food processor.
